Graduation Awards

8TH GRADE AWARDS ARE PRESENTED AT EITHER THE 8TH GRADE AWARD CEREMONY OR AT GRADUATION 

Gold Seal: Gold Seal awards are given to students who maintained a 3.0 or higher G.P.A. for all 8 quarters of Junior High School (7th & 8th-grade years).  Students receiving a Gold Seal may not receive any D or F grades, including Physical Education.

Faculty Awards: Each year the faculty of Fruitvale Junior High collaborates to award a number of students for their contributions to Fruitvale. 

Department Awards:   Elective teachers give department-specific awards each year.

Community Awards:  Several community organizations contact Fruitvale Junior High and recognize outstanding students on our campus.

School Event Participant Recognition:  Multiple students are recognized for their participation in the county and school competitions. 

AWARDS PRESENTED AT THE GRADUATION CEREMONY:  

Valedictorians:  Valedictorians must have earned straight A's for all 8 quarters of Junior High School (7th & 8th-grade years).        A- grades eliminate students from receiving valedictorian.  

District Awards:

     - Each Year outstanding 8th graders have the opportunity to apply for the Les De Hart scholarship award. 

     - John Hefner award and Scholarship (top two Graduates)

     - The Ben Lackey Memorial Scholarship Award and the Sean Farley Memorial Scholarship Award

Most Improved:  The Fruitvale Junior High Staff and Administration choose a student or students who have shown the most improvement during their junior high school years.
