There are several awards given during the last week of school. The 8th grade awards ceremony is the Friday before the last week of school at 12:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room. Parents of students receiving awards will be notified in advance.
Valedictorians must have earned straight A's for all 8 quarters of Junior High School (7th & 8th grade years). A- grades eliminate students from receiving valedictorian.
Gold Seal awards are given to students who maintained a 3.0 or higher G.P.A. for all 8 quarters of Junior High School (7th & 8th grade years). Students receiving a Gold Seal may not receive any D or F grades, including Physical Education.
CJSF students have to have earned CJSF credit for three quarters of 7th grade and three quarters of 8th grade. See the link for CJSF to review program requirements.
Each year the faculty of Fruitvale Junior High collaborates to award a number of students for their contributions to Fruitvale.
Elective teachers give department-specific awards each year.
Several community organizations contact Fruitvale Junior High and recognize outstanding students on our campus.
Each Year outstanding 8th graders have the opportunity to apply for the Les De Hart scholarship award which is presented at the Graduation Ceremony. Two
students are also awarded the John Hefner award and Scholarship at the Graduation Ceremony.
The Fruitvale Junior High Staff and Administration choose a group of students who have shown the most improvement during their junior high school years.
This award is presented at Graduation.
